Born in Stirling, Scotland, Bill received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a Chartered Accountant (Scotland) by profession. He is also a Fellow of The Institute of Directors, London. He moved to Bermuda in 1975.
Bill worked with KPMG Peat Marwick, Bermuda between 1975 and 1978 then moved into the captive insurance business with the Bermuda office of Alexander & Alexander, specialising in both Fortune 1000 and national/regional trade group and association business. He was then Managing Director of the Bermuda captive management subsidiary of a Michigan-based independent insurance agency specialising in group and association insurance programmes.
He formed William R. Storie & Co. Ltd. in Bermuda in 1989.
Bill has given individual and group presentations to prospective clients on captive insurance and reinsurance, captive investment advisory and management services, investment manager searches, asset/liability management techniques and the wide array of financial products and services required by the offshore markets.
He also developed the Business Technology side of the company. He created and published the BerBiz electronic newsletter, which has been issued free to a global audience in over 25 countries since 1995 and became the industry standard. He also designed and implemented the first global risk website in London, which set the benchmark for insurance and reinsurance knowledge sites on the Web. Bill has spoken about the business use of the internet to many industry groups in Bermuda, North America and the UK, in addition to assisting the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce with its Internet strategic plan.
For many years, Bill has also advised high net worth individuals and families on asset allocation, global finance strategies, coordination with other professional advisors, accounting and administrative matters, etc. Bill's savoir-faire and management style is of particular appeal to the more mature client who appreciates his "been there, done that myself" approach.

Charles Vaughan-Johnson is recognised as one of the leading private bankers in the world.
Born in England, Mr Charles Vaughan-Johnson was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond, from 1947 to 1952. Following his National Service in the Royal Navy, he served for seven years in the Northern Rhodesia (Zambia) Government in the Attorney General's Division and the High Court, acquiring the Government Law Exams. He earned an Associate Diploma, London Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) in 1967 and became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB) in 1972.
Mr Vaughan-Johnson retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Bermuda Limited in March 1997. He joined the Bank of Bermuda in May 1988 to lead its private banking activities. In June 1989 he became Senior Vice President and General Manager, Private Banking and a member of the Executive Management Committee. He was responsible for directing the Bank's Personal Trust and Investment businesses in Bermuda and abroad, and engaged in the development of new services and facilities to meet the needs of the Bank's private banking clients. This included the integration of private banking and personal trust activities worldwide. In February 1993 he became Executive Vice President International and on April 4th, 1994 he succeeded Donald P. Lines as President and CEO of the Bank of Bermuda Limited.
Before joining the Bank of Bermuda as Senior Manager, Personal Trust, Mr Vaughan-Johnson acquired a wealth of experience from more than twenty-five years in trust and international banking. From 1962-66 he worked as a Trust Officer for Westminster Bank in London, and thereafter worked in senior capacities for the Royal Bank of Canada Trust Corporation (1966-69), Wobaco (World Banking Corporation) International Trust Group a Bank of America Affiliate, (1969-78), BankAmerica International Trust Group (1978-84), Aitken Hume International plc (1984), and The New World Trust Group (1985-88). He was Chief Executive Officer of both of the latter two organisations.
Mr Vaughan-Johnson is a past President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Bermuda Centre, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and Chairman Emeritus of the Bermuda Branch, a Member of The Honourable Society of Grays Inn, and a Freeman of the City of London.
Mr. Vaughan-Johnson is an independent consultant and acts in a non-executive consulting capacity to the Company. He is a non-executive director of Duncan Lawrie Holdings Limited, a private banking and investment management company in the UK, and a director and chairman of Retfin Bermuda Limited, a financial service adviser in Bermuda.
Mr. Gattis has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years and was a director at Credit Suisse Asset Management, Ltd. Prior to CSAM, he was executive vice president in charge of the institutional products group at ARM Financial Group. Previously, he was president of CHALKE Consulting Group, an asset/liability consulting and software firm; one of the founding principals of SEI Corporation's insurance asset advisory and consulting business; and principal and national head of insurance consulting at KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mr. Gattis has published articles on insurance-related topics in Contingencies - The Magazine of the Actuarial Profession, Best's Review, Reactions, and Resource Magazine. He attended Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a BA in Political Science and an MPA. He is a member of the International Insurance Society.
