The bedroom was originally the dining room. But, of the rooms that don't have windows on the street, it's by far the nicest and it gets a lot of light. One leftover feature from the days when it was a dining room is that it has a display shelf for plates running around the room; we've put pictures on that instead.

This is a view of my side of the bed and the windows from the bedroom onto the back yard. You can just see the bottom of the mobile we acquired when the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art was clearing its collection, at the request of Alexander Calder's family.

Here's a close-up of the mobile. I had to take the picture at night, because otherwise the glare was too strong.

Dresser and television, more picture rails, and the door to the kitchen.

Another vestige of this formerly being the dining room is that we have this built-in breakfront in the bedroom. Downstairs, it's been stripped down to the wood and looks fabulous, but our landlords don't like the look, so they don't want us to have it stripped.
