Pictures of our homeSo, we've complained a lot until now about this place, but seeing it in pictures, it doesn't look that bad. (Pictures lie.) To get a feel for it, you'll probably want to flip back and forth between the floorplan on the right and the pictures on other pages. We spent a long time figuring out how we should use the rooms, and, while we've come up with something that works, it's not perfect. For example, our bedroom has no closets, but it does have a door to the kitchen. (You can't see the doors on the floorplan, because I gave up before I added them.) The building dates to 1910 and the layout is actually pretty typical of San Francisco's Victorian flats - our previous place was half of one of these, and the floorplan reflected that, though the landlord had rearranged a lot to make it more practical for modern times. One thing that we knew about the place, but hadn't really put into words until I drew the floorplan, is how narrow the apartment is - it's about sixty feet long by twenty wide. The scale of the floorplan is set up so that it should be roughly ten real feet per screen inch, but your mileage may vary. Click on a room in the floorplan to see photos of the room. Or click below:
This page is still a work in progress. I'll eventually get around to taking some pictures of the other rooms. |
