Foot tunnel under the Thames at Greenwich (896x512)
This is the Greenwich-side terminal for the 1200' foot tunnel under the Thames that connects Greenwich with the Island of Dogs and the Island Gardens station of Docklands Light Rail. The terminal on the opposite shore of the Thames can be seen just to the right of the structure in this picture. Built in 1902 to allow south London laborers to walk to work in Millwall Docks.
