Illinois Peace Action is an affiliate of the national organization Peace Action. As a nonpartisan nondenominational organization, we believe in working with all those interested in promoting a more peaceful world free from the threat of nuclear weapons and proliferation. In pursuit of this goal, we focus on disarmament and nonproliferation issues. Our projects involve educating both the community as a whole and the Illinois Congressional delegation.

Our current activity involves promoting a piece of legislation written with other local peace groups under the name of the Illinois Coalition for Nuclear Weapons Control.

Our Hiroshima Day Event was a success. Thank You all for your support. Sunday September 3rd at 5pm on CANTV, our event will be part of their coverage on local events commemorating the anniversary of the bombings of Hirsohima and Nagasaki.
