How to discontinue receiving mail from the userid@webcom.com email account.

There is unfortunately a large amount of unsolicited bulk email being sent to many of our customer's userid@webcom.com email address. WebCom never sold or gave out this address to any third parties, but spammers were able to obtain it, and it is now listed on many spammer's distribution lists. Even though WebCom uses ORDB and The Spamhaus Block List for spam blocking, a lot of spam still gets through. Below are instructions for discontinuing the use of your userid@webcom.com email address to stop receiving this spam.

To discontinue the use of your userid@webcom.com email address, you will want to configure this email account so that it is set up as an auto-responder with no POP or forwarding options. To do this:

Your userid@webcom.com email address is the default address for where your Site Activity Reports are sent to, as well as where any forms you may have are sent to.

Regarding Site Activity Reports (SARs):

Simply use the Configure SARs form to enter in a new email address to send your reports to.

Regarding Forms:

By default, the WebCom forms processor will send your form submissions to userid@webcom.com . It is very easy to change the email address of where you would like to have your forms sent. You will simply need to add the line below to the html source code of your form:

<INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME=email VALUE="spamfree@yourdomain.com">

... or you can add the line below to your .cfg file:

$email="spamfree@yourdomain.com";
