Managing your Email Accounts
The WebCom SiteSaver service plan gives you one email account for every domain that you have parked in your SiteSaver account. Each of these email account give you the ability to create multiple addresses at your domain name, that forward to one or more Internet email addresses of your choosing. SiteSaver email accounts do not support POP email boxes, autoresponse, or distribution list. If you would like to use these features with your WebCom account, you might want to consider upgrading your WebCom account to a BudgetSite, BusinessSite, or WebCommerce service plan.
The Email Services Menu
If you want to do anything with the email accounts in your SiteSaver account, including all the things described below, you need to start at the Email Services Menu. To get to the Email Services Menu, follow these steps:
At this point you will be logged into your WebCom account, and will be looking at the Email Services Menu, and ready to work with your email accounts.
Viewing an Overview of your Email Accounts
One of the most useful options the Email Services Menu offers is the option, View an Overview of your Email Accounts. Clicking on this option shows you all the email accounts you have in your account, along with their current configuration. This service is great because it quickly gives you all the information about all of your accounts at once.
Your Default WebCom Email Account
When you View and Overview of your Email Accounts (described above) you will notice that even if you have never created an email account before there is already one account. This is the default WebCom Email account. This account is created automatically when your SiteSaver account is activated with the incoming address of your userid@webcom.com. We do this so that our system always has an email address that we can contact you at. You can can always modify this email account (see below) but you can never delete it, nor can you remove userid@webcom.com from the list of incoming addresses.
Creating a New Email Account
You can only create new email accounts if the number of email accounts you have in your account is less than the number of domain names you have in your account. In other words, if you already have one email account for every domain name you have, you cannot create a new email account. Instead, we suggest that you add new email addresses to an existing email account using the option to Modify an Existing Email Account. (See Below.)
Creating a new email account is very simple. Follow the steps below:
It normally takes up to 60 minutes for an email account to be created. If you already have the maximum amount of email accounts allowed by your SiteSaver account (one per domain, to a maximum of 20) you will receive an error message and your new email account will not be created. In this case, we recommend that you modify an existing domain (see below). Also note that you can have incoming addresses for different domains in the same account -- if all your email addresses are just going to forward to one address, you only ever need to have one email account. Consolidating email accounts like that can make your email easier to understand and handle.
Modifying an Existing Email Account
To Modify an email account start at the Email Services Menu, and click on Modify and Existing Email Account. If you have multiple email accounts, you will be asked to select which account you want to modify. Once you have done this and clicked on the submit button, you will be presented with a form identical with the form you used to create the account. You can easily change any of the information here, adding or removing email addresses as needed. Please note that if you are making changes to your default email account, you will not be able to change the userid@webcom.com address.
Deleting an Email Account
If you no longer need an email address, you can delete it by clicking on the Delete and Email Account option on the Email Services Menu. You will be asked to select which email address you wish to delete, and you will be asked to confirm your deletion choice. Please note that you can't delete your default email account that contains userid@webcom.com.
