[an error occurred while processing this directive] Using Microsoft FrontPage 97 Publishing Wizard

The Publishing Wizard is a tool which allows you to easily upload your FrontPage Web site to your WebCom account. This page will guide you through entering in the right information when first using the Publishing Wizard. Please note that these instructions apply directly to the Windows 95 version. You may find some variation if using other operating systems. In addition, not every dialog box in the process is illustrated here, only those which involved relevant configuration options.

Selecting the content to publish

The wizard will ask you to select the file or folder you wish to publish with this dialog box. [Screen Shot] The path entered in the first box should point to the place on your hard disk where FrontPage stores the content. The path shown here is the default location for the "Root Web". Clicking on the "Browser Folders" button will allow you to specify any other webs you have created, which are typically stored in a subdirectory of C:\FrontPage Webs\Content.

Naming the "Web server" In this dialog you are asked to associate a new name for the Web you are uploading. [Screen Shot] You can type in any name you like which is descriptive of the content you are uploading. In the second box you will want to select as shown in the illustration.
The Destination URL The Wizard asks for the address on the Internet to which this Web will be uploaded. [Screen Shot] An example is shown in the illustration of uploading the Web to the homepage of the WebCom guest account, to be accessible at http://webcom.com/~webcom/guest/. For publishing to your own WebCom account you would enter http:webcom.com/~webcom/userid/, where userid is your WebCom username.
