The WebCom Forms Processor -- Creating a custom fill-out form

The first step in creating a WWW fill-out form is to create the form itself. For step-by-step instructions on how to do this, see the Forms Tutorial.

Instead of creating a form from scratch, you will probably want to copy a form from one of our sample applications on the form processor home page, from another WebCom customer, or from anywhere on the Web where you see a form you like.

Easier still, you can use the Instant Site web page creator to create fill-out forms pages with the click of a button! (no knowledge of the form processor required).

The ACTION in the FORM tag of your form must be set to "http://webcom.com/~webcom/cgi-bin/form", e.g.:

<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="http://webcom.com/~webcom/cgi-bin/form">

And you must have the required Hidden Fields so our form processor can tell who you are, and that's all there is to it! Each time somebody submits your form, it will be emailed to you!

Once you have created and tested the form, you may optionally create a configuration file which you can use to override the default formatting and/or routing of the data (for example to send it to a different email address or to multiple email addresses, or to save the data in a file). If you do not create a configuration file for your form, the WebCom forms processor will simply mail the data in the form to userid@webcom.com (example).
