to the Name Server Modification form.
- Simply replace the name server in the NamerServer1 box with
ns.webcom.com/~webcom and replace the name server in the NameServer2 box with
ns2.webcom.com/~webcom. Click on the Update Name Servers button at the bottom
of the form, and you're done.
Now that the domain name has been set to point to WebCom's name servers, all
that remains is to add the domain to your exiting WebCom account. To do this,
- Login to your WebCom account using the Control Panel Login link on
the left side of this page, and then select "Domain Name Services" on the
Control Panel.
- Click on "Activate a .com, .net, .org Domain already pointing to WebCom."
- Enter your new domain name in section 2 of the form, leaving out the
www. prefix.
- Click on "Activate virtual domain name at WebCom" to update our system.
The host file for your domain will now be created in the WebCom name servers
during the next refresh cycle, which occurs between 2am and 6am Pacific
Standard Time. It may take 48 to 72 hours before changes to domain names
propagate through the entire Internet.
If you are not sure at which registrar your Domain Name was registered, you
can use the domain name 'whois' lookup at
http://www.nsiregistry.com to find out.
