Frequently Asked Billing Questions

This page is a part of WebCom's Billing Help Pages.

What is my userid?

Knowing your userid (also "username" or "account name") is very important, because it allows you to change and manage your account and is required when contacting WebCom for Technical Support or other assistance. If you have forgotten your userid, take a look at your most recent Billing Statement or Site Activity Report. Both of these documents contain your userid. If you do not have access to either of these, contact support@webcom.com or use the form below. Be sure to include your name so that our representatives have a reference by which they can look up your userid.

If you believe that you know your userid and password, but it is not working, first make sure that you are typing it correctly. Userids and passwords are both case-sensitive, so make sure that you don't have your caps lock key on.

What is my password?

If you have forgotten your password, click here to use our form which will automatically email the password to the contact address for the account. If the contact information for your account is incorrect, or you have other problems with your password, you need to contact WebCom Technical Support. Please see our Contact Page for our toll-free phone number and business hours.

What is the Network Solutions (And why did they send me an invoice)?

Network Solutions (a.k.a. the InterNIC) is the Domain Name registration authority in charge of .com, .org, .net, and .edu domain names. When you register a domain (such as www.your-company-here.com) through WebCom, we register the domain with the Network Solutions so that the domain will work on the Internet.

The reason you have may have received an invoice from the Network Solutions is because they charge a fee for registering and maintaining domain names. The first $70 fee covers the first two years. After your first two years, Network Solutions charges $35 per year. This fee is required regardless of your organization type (even if you are a school or non-profit, for example). If you do not pay your registration fees, your domain will be automatically cancelled by Network Solutions. For more information about Domain Name Services at WebCom, please see our detailed documentation.

Why am I being charged for a domain name that was transferred elsewhere?

Transferring a domain name from one WebCom account to another WebCom account OR to another hosting company does not automatically cancel domain name hosting at WebCom. Cancellation of domain names must be requested to support@webcom.com or through our online services. You may cancel your domain name any time by:

  1. Login to your account by selecting "Control Panel Login."
  2. Enter your userid and password.
  3. Under Manage your Site, select "Domain Name Services".
  4. Click on "Cancel a Domain Name and/or Virtual Hosting".
  5. Confirm the domain name cancellation by clicking on the submit button at the bottom of the page.
