Northern California's largest Heron Rookery is located on the northern shore of Clear Lake. Currently, four hundred acres of Rodman Ranch and Slough are for sale. It is imperative that this unique and valuable bioregion be preserved. The Lake County Land Trust is campaigning for the property to be purchased by state or federal agencies for public land. However, until this can be done, the Trust is working to raise funds to demonstrate to the owners of the property that there is sufficient interest by the public to preserve this natural treasure. The Bald Eagle, Osprey, and many other animals are part of this habitat. This valuable region is essential to the continued health of Clear Lake.
