[Added May 2007] Earlier this year, the "American Hunters and Shooters Association" held a press conference, piggybacked on the NRA annual meetings in St. Louis. Since this organization bills itself as "an alternative to the NRA," Ginny Simone, reporter for NRA News, showed up at its press conference, hoping to report on it. Simone was almost thrown out of the place bodily by ex-footballer Ray Schoenke, who is listed as president of the association. Be advised this "organization" may not be what it purports to be.
