The Supreme Court (Haynes v. U.S., 1968) ruled the government cannot prosecute someone for not registering
a gun if that person is prohibited from having a gun. This makes virtually every gun law a sham! Only if you have NOT
been convicted of, or pled guilty to, a felony can you be prosecuted for not registering your firearms, if so required!

To better understand our Second Amendment rights, sometimes we need to look to other portions of our Constitution.
The Ninth Amendment is seldom quoted because at first glance it seems confusing and obscure. However, upon careful dissection, it is clear that it was written as a reminder that the government is not permitted to negate or even reduce in meaning any of the "people's" rights. The amendment, using words not in common usage today, says: "The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." RETAINED, defined: To keep in possession, to hold secure or intact, keep. Rights, listed or unlisted in the Constitution, belong to us, the citizens of the United States, and are not subject to removal, political correctness, denial or disparagement.

Firearm-related fatalities in the U.S. have been decreasing consistently since record-keeping began in 1903, and
dramatically in the last 10 years.
Over the last eight years, the number of unintentional firearm-related fatalities for children (14 years of age and under)
has decreased by 67%.
Accidental firearm-related fatalities are substantially lower compared to the number of accidental deaths caused by other injury types.
Hunting is one of the safest forms of recreation in the United States.
Firearms are involved in fewer than 2% of accidental fatalities among children (14 years of age and under).
In the past 12 years, firearm-related accidents in the home have dropped by more than half (55%).
Firearms are involved in fewer than 1% (0.7%) of all accidental fatalities in the United States.
Over the last decade the rate of firearm-related injuries per 100,000 people has declined by 60% (from 0.5% in 1994 to 0.2% in 2004).

The Federalist reviewed the latest Centers for Disease Control mortality statistics -- the official
statistics used by Clinton and company -- and found a few additional facts worth
mentioning. Regarding the accidental deaths of children from birth to
age 14, the CDC lists: auto (2,608), drowning (1,010), pedestrian (675),
bicycle (201), and gun accidents (142). Gun homicides in the same age group totaled 346. As for [the]
claim of "12 young people, dying every day," [this figure] is including the 17- to 19-year-old gangsters
and drug dealers -- who target primarily each other -- among the "young." For all ages,
of a population of 270,000,000, there were 13,522 homicides involving the use of a gun. Tragically, while blacks compose 12.8% of the population, they account for more than 50% of all homicides -- mostly black males killed by black males.
Interestingly, the CDC includes gun deaths by "legal intervention" or
self-defense among the total cited above. The Federalist inquired about the actual
number of legal shootings in order to distinguish between those and
illegal homicides, and the CDC declined to release that figure.

Judge Garwood questioning the attorney representing the Federal Government (Meteja) during Clinton's term:
"You are saying that the Second Amendment is consistent with a position that you can take guns away from the public? You can restrict ownership of rifles, pistols and shotguns from all people? Is that the position of the United States?" Meteja (for the government: "Yes" Judge Garwood: "Is it the position of the United States that persons who are not in the National Guard are afforded no protections under the Second Amendment?" Meteja: "Exactly." Meteja then said that even membership in the National Guard
isn't enough to protect the private ownership of a firearm. It wouldn't
protect the guns owned at the home of someone in the National Guard. Judge Garwood: Membership in the National Guard isn't enough? What else is
needed? Meteja: "The weapon in question must be used in the National
Guard."

Did you know that sales of hunting licenses have declined in nine of the last ten years?
Over 14,000 fewer licenses were sold, nationwide, in 1998 v. 1997 (USF&W reports). The number
of licensed hunters declined 17% from 1990 to 1998 (Mediamark Research, Inc). Target shooting
involved over 18 million participants in the USA in 1997. That figure, however, is five percent
less than the figure for 1993 (National Sporting Goods Asso). The ATF tells us the number of
licensed firearms dealers has dropped from over 250,000 to around 70,000 --a reduction of over
70 percent-- thanks, in large part, to additional ATF licensing restrictions and requirements.
The number of women owning firearms peaked in 1993 at 13.8% but had dropped to 10.7% in 1998
(National Opinion Research Center). Cameron Hopkins, writing in American Handgunner,
May.June 2000, states "The gun business is in an irreversible decline and nothing can turn it around."
If you're old enough to have grandchildren, they may see the disarming of the American citizenry."
When you hear polls denouncing gun owners and those who would maintain a free citizen's right to be armed
consider the poll conducted by The History Channel.
The question asked in September 1999 was "Should the right to bear arms be repealed?"
The response? 89.8% voted "No!"
