Geological: These stones are many shades of light green to blue-green. From the dawn of civilization to the present, the value of turquoise has depended not only on its worth as a precious stone, but also upon the mystic properties it is supposed to possess. It has been found in tombs of the earliest Egyptian kings. Aristotle spoke of its healing properties and Navajo Indians consider turquoise a most highly prized possession. Turquoise is an aluminum phosphate with small amounts of copper and iron. The bluer the stone, the more copper it contains. The greener the stone, the more iron it contains.

Metaphysical: Turquoise aids the immune system, gives peace of mind and wisdom. It also brings good luck, calms emotions and dispels confusion.
