Our Acceptable Use Policy prohibits our customers from sending unsolicited bulk commercial email (aka "spam") using our services. If it is brought to our attention that one of our customers is violating this policy, we take steps to stop them and ensure it doesn't happen again. Our site uses a sign-up order form for you to request information, products, and services. We collect your contact information (like your email address) and financial information (like your credit card number). The Information WebCom collects from site visitors and what we do with it.
Using your IP address
We use the IP addresses of visitors to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you surf the Web. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address.
We also use IP addresses to collect the information that forms Site Activity Reports (SARs) for our customers. These reports tell our customers the IP addresses of visitors and the pages these visitors access, and does not include any personal information, such as email addresses. We do not collect this information from visitors to our site or to that of our customers. This means that a user's session will be logged, but the user remains anonymous to us.

Buying on the Internet from WebCom customers using our secure servers with credit cards is just as safe and secure as using your credit cards in person. WebCom's SSL encryption-enabled Netscape Commerce Server encrypts all sensitive data (look for the locked padlock on your SSL enabled browser) en-route from the browser to the WebCom server.

What are cookies? Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site transfers to an individual's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. WebCom's shopping cart uses a cookie to track which products you've chosen to purchase while shopping at one of our customers' sites. The cookie expires once you're done shopping. The cookie allows record-keeping on the WebCom system, which saves you the trouble of entering information repeatedly during a single visit. If you decline this cookie, you may have difficulty ordering your selections.
To ensure complete privacy, only a serial number is sent as a cookie so that our system knows which shopping cart belongs to you. Think of it as a ticket in a deli. The ticket itself doesn't contain information that would be useful to anyone but WebCom's shopping system.
